Cant Afford To Go To School??

Hey all,

If you are like me and had to find some way to finance a college career then you may find this information useful. I was reading a post that my boss Logan Lenz wrote on his website http://loganlenz.com. The material presented was on companies who do microlending especially for students. Two sites, Wonga.com and Vittana.org, were noted as two very good sites that have very low lending minimums. As always, students have the option of financial aid or others such as a Stafford Loan, but I figured I would share this information with you as a possible alternative. As always, good luck and feel free to post any valuable information. Until next time...

What's New!

So, I figured I would share something interesting I just read about. For those of us who are looking for a job, I read in an article on collegenews.com that the Peace Corps and Teach For America are one of the most desired careers for young professionals fresh out of school. In fact, the Peace Corps was ranked number seven in a large poll. After the recession became more apparent, I also gave alot of thought to joining the Peace Corps or even the NAVY. I wonder if this is actually worse for our economy? With more young professionals going into social work and non-profit fields, that's less people joining the market and earning income which will increase income tax. With our deficit over 1 trillion dollars, I fear this trend is only hindering the recovery of our economy. But, we do need jobs; so, I guess we have to take what we can get. So, for any of you who are struggling to find work, you should check out the Peace Corps and see what they have to offer. What's the worst that can happen? You help less fortunate people out and I'm sure it sets you up for something after your tenure. Just a thought...

End Of Summer

Hey everyone,

So, Summers almost over! Fortunately, I have landed an internship with the fall which is awesome because I was internship-less and jobless practically all summer. Nothing is more fun than not having money in the summer while everyone vacations vicariously throughout the world. I think my best vacation was Olive Garden... wasn't that bad... a few nice trips to the Florida Keys for fishing. For those of you who are still looking for jobs or internships, I recommend looking on snagajob.com ( for relatively promising local listings) or check your school for employment offices that are free to utilize. Good luck and feel free to post job listings on my blog page that may help other students in our boat. Until later..
